I didn’t have to travel far to take these photographs for Art in the Streets Photo Challenge, they were taken in my yard after a ice storm that hit South Carolina.

I took these photos of our holly bush, I love the way the ice encases the holly berries.

I thought it was interesting how the ice froze around the wheel well and running boards on our truck.

This is a fountain at my friend’s house, it’s got to be cold to freeze a fountain!

  1. Nice pictures! It looks really cold where you live! I live in Taipei, Taiwan and it actually snowed in some parts of the city for the first time in over 10 years! Climate is real – I’m worried about how how the summer while be (the summers are always incredibly hot here). Anyways, this article and the pictures reminded me to get back out and take some pics!

It seems like the weather is changing through out the seasons. We use to be able to plan the weather, but no more. We live in the southern part of the US where snow and ice is minimal but when we get it, we get it! Go take some pictures of your snow, would love it see it! Thanks for visiting Timothy.

Wow, these photographs of ice on trees, cars, fountains, etc., are spectacular!
    What a great challenge!!!

I loved seeing the ice encasing the holly bush, but not fun on the roads! The day I took the fountain picture, the temperature was about 26 degrees. BRRRR, way too cold for the south! But did make a cool photo. Thanks for stopping by Alice.

  3. The photos depicting ice on everyday objects or snow burying them are among my favorites. Not only because I am fairly fond of winter, but to demonstrate how nature both alters and magnifies the beauty around us.
    Thanks for the share!

Thanks Roy, I like the ice on the wheel well of the truck, I thought it was unique and different. Winter is my favorite season however since moving to the south, we don’t see snow much. Thanks for stopping by!

Art by nature is always a beautiful thing. I love the way the fountain has been frozen mid flow and the red berries glowing beneath the ice.

  5. I loved the Hollyhocks photos. Thank you for sharing!
