April 2018 Ultimate Blog Challenge

April 2018 Ultimate Blog Challenge

What is today you ask?  For Christians, we are celebrating Easter, the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.  For the Jewish faith, they are celebrating Passover which is usually 8 days and it commemorates the biblical story of Exodus, when Hebrew slaves were released from bondage.  But today is also April 1st, also known as APRIL FOOLS DAY!!  If I tell you today is the beginning of the April 2018 Ultimate Blog Challenge, that is nothing to fool about, it’s the real deal and I’m so excited to join in once again!  So let the fun begin with reconnecting with previous challenge members and hoping meeting many new ones that are just joining in!

I’d like to introduce/re-introduce myself to everyone and thank Paul T. and Danni A, the hosts of the Ultimate Blog Challenge for organizing and keeping the challenge going.  First, the challenge is four times a year, each January, April, July, and October bloggers are challenged to write a blog each day of the month.  Some bloggers have a theme for the entire month, some blog about traveling while others blog about cooking or health and fitness.  For me, I just wing it and write about whatever pops in my mind.  I like doing it this way, I usually don’t know what I will be writing about until I start!  Sometimes I have ideas that have come to me or a take a photo with a meaning and I will write a poem about the photo.  I see butterflies or birds in the yard and I write about them. This is one of my favorite blogs I wrote when the yard was full of yellow butterflies.  http://themarthareview.com/yellow-butterflies/  I read that if you whisper a message when you see a butterfly, the message will be carried to your loved ones in heaven.

However, my favorite topic would have to be writing about quick and easy meals! I love shopping for great deals and I can make a dinner for less than $5.00 for hubby and me.  I have a variety of delicious, easy and healthy recipes and even ways I freeze vegetables from our garden in this section of my blog. http://themarthareview.com/category/in-the-kitchen/   Hope you enjoy them!

My blog was born on Christmas day 2014 when I originally planned on using it mostly for product reviews but that quickly changed into making many different categories and giveaways. I first found out about this challenge in January 2016 and have completed all of Ultimate Blog Challenges in 2016, 2017 and I’m on my way to hopefully doing the same for 2018.

To all my “old” challenge bloggers (I don’t mean old in age!  LOL) welcome back and I look forward to catching up with you and your blogs.  To all the bloggers new to the challenge, welcome to this awesome group of bloggers and I look forward to learning more about your blogging ways and if you have a niche or do you just write what comes to mind and watch your stats rise as you write!

I started my blog on Christmas Day 2014 mainly to review products I received. Since then it has evolved into many other categories of lifestyles, family, money saving ideas, low cost, delicious and healthy meals plus other surprise posts. My granddaughter has her own category, Alex's Articles and the latest addition to my blog is my great granddaughter now has her category, Lia's Likings The Baby Blogger! Lia started blogger at 8 months old and she now has a Friday Story Time blog you won't want to miss! I welcome you to join the conversation, ask a question, give a suggestion or leave a comment on any blog post. I hope you enjoy Lia's Likings, she has some great posts that will make you smile!

Where did the past two months go Jeanine?? I had good intentions of writing at least twice a week but that didn’t work. Flu caught up with Rich and me for over 6 weeks after turning into bronchitis than a virus! But glad to be back on track and looking forward to catching up with your blog also! This is so great! I write in the same way – I never have a theme but I constantly have ideas of what to write about. Sometimes they come to me in passing and I have to write it down. Other times, I wait to sit at my laptop and the pressure of getting the post done by the end of the day motivates me to start typing! Good luck to both of us! Visiting from UBC

Great to meet someone as spontaneous as me Elisa! I have so many things always running through my head, I could never settle on one theme or niche. My ideas come the same as yours and if any pop in my head during the dark of night, I send myself a text message with the topic! Think I’m weird? I sure am. LOL Looking forward to your topics on a whim, we can both get this challenge completed.
