Another Ultimate Blog Challenge Month!
Today is October 1, 2022 and that means it’s another Ultimate Blog Challenge month! This happens four times a year in January, April, July and October where bloggers join in on this exciting challenge to write a blog each day of the challenge months. We have Paul T. to thank for keeping this challenge going and to help out even more when he sends a daily blog topic you can write about. Thank you so much Paul for all you do to keep this challenge so interesting!
I started participating in the UBC back in January 2016 and have completed every challenge since then. This will be my 36th consecutive UBC and while this year has been full of heartbreaks after losing my husband on Easter morning after being together 59 years I managed to complete the April and July challenge with memories that I have to hold on to. I’m hoping I can do the same with the October challenge since I know Rich is holding my hand from up above and guiding me as I write.
I’m looking forward to reconnecting with my “old” blogger friends from this challenge and excited to meet new ones that are just joining in. Either way, we will all have fun and even if by chance you can’t write a blog everyday, that’s fine, we can only do our best. If you miss a day, you can always combine your blog on one day into two stories. Also blogs don’t have to be long, some times a short blog gets the point across as much as a novel length.
Some ideas for the newbies, Wednesday is Wordless Wednesday so share a picture or two and there’s your blog! I love sharing flowers and nature pictures. Thursday is Throwback Thursday so if I’m trying to come up with a topic, I look through my photos from years past and see what was exciting on that day back then.
My blogger friend, Kebba B. came up with the awesome idea for Silly Saturday! Since we all can use a bit of laughter, share a funny picture, quote or maybe you have a silly story to share. This one is easy for my because Lia loves making silly faces. I came up with Spiritual Sunday where I share a quote, a simple photo or even a song that reminds me how special Sundays are.
Then there is Friday. My great-granddaughter Lia has taken over my blog with her Friday Story Time by Lia where she shares her stories about her happenings of the week. It might be about school, her puppy Snowball, family trips and of course her delicious baking projects from Lia’s Sunshine Bakery.
What’s exciting about this challenge is not only meeting other bloggers but they all help you with your stats on you blog site. We view, read, comment, like, and share other blogs and that in turn helps get your blogs out to other places and you end up getting more traffic to your site!
I also share a poem I wrote years ago on the opening day of the UBC so here it is! As someone told me years ago, let’s get another ultimate blog challenge month going and BLOG ON!
Happy to see you again Martha looking forward to reading your blog. Much Love
Thank you Brenda, glad to see you back also. You and your family are always in my thoughts and prayers.
Martha (and Lia), I am so glad to see you back – the UBC wouldn’t be the same without you ladies!
Seeing Lia’s smile – and her cookies with sprinkles – makes me smile, and I am especially looking forward to the Friday posts!
And we are glad to see you back also Tamara! Hoping I can do this, I have so much to tell the blogging world and Lia, well she always finds something to write about!
Martha, yes! Welcome back to both of us! It will be fun to see who is with us in this month’s UBC. Got to write my article now!
Yes it will be exciting and hopefully a few new ones? I just read your blog, you sip your coffee and I’ll sip my tea! Thanks for stopping by Kebba, hugs and love!
Oh, what fun!!! I am excited to read your blog (and Lia’s blog) this month!
Thanks Alice, and I’m excited to read your bear stories for the month!
Martha, I’m so sorry for the loss of your husband. 59 years, WOW and I thought 47 married and 3 more dating was a lot. Thank you so much for the great tips in this post. Your sweet great-granddaughter is absolutely adorable.
Thank you Mary, Rich was one of a kind and people say it gets easier but I haven’t seen that. I know he is with me, guiding me and our children and grands. But is still feels like I’m living a nightmare and I will wake up. Congratulations on your 47 years together!
Hmm! I love the idea of a spiritual Sunday with a quote or something. Maybe I’ll try that. Martha, I am always so glad to see you when these challenges begin again, but even more so now that you have lost your Rich. I hope being with the old blogger friends who love and care about you helps at least a little.
Thank you Jeanine, actually when I have my family and friends around I can handle things better. It’s when I’m alone and my mind keeps asking questions as to why that I feel like I’m losing it. Thanks to my blogger family, they help ease the pain. Hugs to you and glad you got electricity back.
I really need to get back into writing blogs. And reading them. I dropped out of blogging mostly because everything is so impersonal. I miss more personal day in the life blogging.
Nona, I hope you can get back to blogging and give it another try! My blogs are mostly life stories where sometimes I just ramble on and other times I have a good direction. Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you blogging again.
Martha, you and Lia are my awesome two that I look up to. I will use some of your ideas . I hope to fulfill every day in Oct.
Thank you Lily, I’m so happy to see you in the challenge again!
