ADORABLE SOCK PENGUIN
My 20-year-old granddaughter loves penguins so when I read a blog post from Tracy B. about sock animals, I was excited to make an adorable sock penguin for my granddaughter. I had recently received some cool socks to review and the one pair was perfect for my penguin.
The pattern on EASY TO MAKE SOCK ANIMALS was easy to follow and fun to make.
It took about 30 minutes to put this little penguin together and I even made him an ear warmer from the top banding of the sock and a scarf from a scrap of flannel I had.
The sock I used was perfect with the little colored shapes on the body, the toe of the sock which is red, is actually the head, and the grey banding was in the perfect spot for the feet and the red heel of the sock turned into the penguin’s butt. I think he is adorable and I plan to make a few “brothers and sisters” to keep this one company at my granddaughter’s.
We celebrated Christmas in Ohio with my granddaughter and the adorable sock penguin sat around our little “Peep” tree with an Angel that my friend made for Alexandra. The little sock animals are all adorable plus easy to make and make great gifts.

You definitely provided new fodder for the “put a sock in it” statement.
Glad your granddaughter is up and around to enjoy the “toy”
LOL, I like your thinking Roy! I’m so use to working with yards and yards of fabric so when I put this little guy together, it was quite a change. Thanks for visiting Mz. Penguin.
He is too cute Martha.
Thanks Brenda, he was so much fun to make! When granddaughter had her surgery, we got her a two foot tall stuffed penguin. She has this little guy snuggled with him. Thanks for stopping by.
this is totally adorable and something I know my little girl will immediately work on the moment I show it to her.. (so will wait until the weekend, else we will be sock hunting for the right sock now!)
Thanks LadyInRead, I so enjoyed making it for my granddaughter. If you little girl makes one, I’d love to see it! I haven’t done a craft project in such a long time, now I want to make more. Thanks for stopping by.
