A to Z Yogurt
Do you like yogurt? Today’s letter is “Y” so Lia and I decided to write about A to Z Yogurt. We usually keep yogurt on hand for using in recipes, fruit smoothies or just having a dish of yogurt as a snack. Vanilla yogurt is the safe flavor since I can add berries and change the flavor.
Lia has always loved yogurt. When she was younger mommy would get her snack packages of yogurt bites. Alexandra shared a post on Facebook about making yogurt bites and of course I had to give them a try. It was so easy and very inexpensive! http://themarthareview.com/toddler-snack-alternatives/
Last week Lia was shopping and she saw strawberry yogurt and wanted to get that. So she loaded it in her shopping cart with the bananas plus everything else she shopped for. Lia was so focused on her shopping and getting to the checkout she didn’t even stop at the candy aisle!
By adding yogurt to bread recipes, it makes them extra moist and delicious. Lia sometimes adds plain yogurt to banana bread.
We are sharing a few delicious ideas to make with yogurt. The first is our breakfast banana split made with yogurt instead of ice cream. I cut a banana in hald lengthwise and fill the center of the dish with yogurt. Add fresh berries, granola and slivered almonds for a healthy and filling breakfast. This is also good for an evening snack! http://themarthareview.com/banana-split-for-breakfast/
This is another yogurt banana split but I’ve added coconut instead of granola. Lia and I like these for a healthy snack.
How about some fresh cut up peaches with banana slices and granola over vanilla yogurt? This was delicious!
This is one of our favorite smoothies! Take 2 or 3 pineapple slices, blend until fairly smooth. Add a very small amount of whipping cream and vanilla yogurt and blend all together. I like to garnish my smoothie with whipped topping, shredded coconut and an small wedge of pineapple. This is such a delicious and refreshing smoothie drink!
Lia went strawberry picking with her grandmother a few weeks ago and brought home two big bags of delicious fresh berries! We cut them up, added some blackberries and raspberries, topped with yogurt and slivered almonds. I guess you realize I like to top my desserts with almonds!
A simple but delicious snack, yogurt and any kind of fruit. What is your favorite yogurt dish? Thanks for visiting Lia’s and my A to Z Yogurt blog, one more letter to go!
I love yogurt. I live on smoothies during the summer months.
I find smoothies refreshing and filling too Brenda! Thanks for visiting.
I love Yogurt.
Lia and I do too Amanda. Her favorite is strawberry. My new pressure cooker has a recipe to make yogurt, we’ll have to try that soon.
