Lia and I have been waiting for the letter “R” for the blog challenge and also been waiting for our roses to bloom! Well today is the day of the A to Z Roses where we will be unveiling some of our beautiful roses!

We had a colder winter than previous years and the flowers were slow to have buds. But the other day Lia and I went out to check on the buds and we counted over 1000 rose buds! Lia likes to go out daily and check the changes in the buds. It’s interesting to see a green bud, then one with a slight amount of pink under the green. Then in a few days a pink rose bud!

With the warm weather, the buds are opening up into blooms that are so beautiful. What better time to share some beauty with you and even though we still have many more to bloom we are excited to see the roses open up.

This is the rose bush in Lia’s Reflection garden and just a few days ago it was a closed bud. Yesterday when we made our garden walk the bud had turned into a spectacular blooming rose.

One of my favorite roses is one that smells like raspberry and looks like velvet! Rich talks to his roses year round and this one must really listen extra because it is so exquisite! This is from bud to bloom to in a vase.

These are some of our rose bushes loaded with buds. The first picture is a rose bush that Rich transplanted about 6 years ago and it has taken off beautifully! Lia’s rose bushes have a great start also. She has a large red rose bush and a smaller yellow one that she’s hoping to see a bud soon. The two bushes under the bay window are knock-out roses and when in bloom the bushes are covered in pink. Mom’s memory garden is doing great with three rose bushes in a variety of colors. The last picture is a rose bush out front that we planted last year in April. For only a year old this rose bush is loaded with buds and blooms! Rich talks to his roses and they listen!

Lia and I hope you enjoyed seeing pictures of our A to Z Roses. Within a week or so we should have rose bushes loaded with rosebud that have bloomed into beautiful roses.

This is a blog I wrote back in 2018 with some pictures of our roses taken early in the morning. With the dew on the petals it reminded me of the song, “In the Garden” by Jim Reeves about the dew is on the roses. Such a beautiful song to go with our beautiful roses. http://themarthareview.com/dew-on-the-roses/ Make sure you take time to stop and smell the roses where ever you are!

I, too, love roses and can’t wait for them to bloom. Here it doesn’t start happening until Min-May. I just moved here a little under two years ago. So, I am not yet use to when things bloom. I have two small yellow rosebushes. My favorite color rose. And, two potted bushes from last year, I am hoping return, soon.

Great post. My grandma loved Roses. In fact, my grandma had a rose bush, and it’s blooming right now.
