A to Z Poem – I Have Great Eyes
Today is Friday Story Time by Lia and it’s also the A to Z challenge letter “P”. I came up with a poem the other day while outside with ma and pop and thought what a great idea to use this for my A to Z Poem – I Have Great Eyes on my Friday story time day!
I Have Great Eyes What Do I See?
By Lia Faith
I have great eyes what do I see?
I see birdies high in the tree.
I have great eyes what do I see?
I see an airplane fly in the sky.
How did it get up there so high?
I have great eyes what do I see?
I see a firetruck going fast as can be.
I have great eyes what do I see?
I see a buggie, no it’s a bee!
I have great eyes what do I see?
I see my pop with me.
Ma, pop and I were outside the other day and there was a tiny bug on the ground. I don’t like bugs, so I told pop to get it. He couldn’t see it and neither could ma. Pop said I have good eyes but I told him I have great eyes. Then ma came up with the idea for me writing a poem. I hope you enjoyed it, I may come up with another one sometime, it was fun to find words that rhymed with “see” for my A to Z Poem – I Have Great Eyes blog.
Ma also writes poems and this is one that she wrote back in 2016, way before I was even born! Her poem is about eyes too! http://themarthareview.com/i-close-my-eyes/
A few words from Martha
It’s Ma here, I want to mention a little more info on Lia’s poem. After she said she had great eyes we did a little scavenger type hunt where Lia would look around to see what she could see. There was a bird in the tree, then a bit later an airplane soared by. Next she heard firetruck sirens and saw a bee on one of our flowers. The one that melted my heart was when I asked her if she saw anything else. She looked around, ran over to pop and said, “I see pop!” When I asked her who was with pop, Lia said she was. It was fun helping Lia with her first poem, my mom wrote poetry and I’m sure she is smiling down from heaven guiding our poetic minds.
What a sweet poem you wrote, Lia. Must say, I have been waiting for this one. You Mama, told me, about it. You are a wonderful all around artist.
Thank you Brenda, I hope I can write another poem soon!
The trick is to notice all the wonderful things in the world as we travel through it.
Glad Lia gave us her guided tour.
Lia notices so many things Roy, she’s got eyes like an eagle.
Lovely. The picture with “Pop” is beautiful!! Enter it into a contest!!
Thanks Kate, that was on his birthday last year and Lia just gave him a birthday gift she made.
What a great poem.
Thanks, this was Lia’s first poem Amanda.
