A to Z Green Beans
Today is Wordless Wednesday plus the letter “G” for our A to Z blog challenge. Lia We are sharing our secret recipe for green beans and slivered almonds. So here is our Worded Wednesday and our A to Z Green Beans blog!
I love fresh vegetables and the other day I bought a large bag of fresh beans for $1.68! Lia helped me cut the ends off and we froze the beans. Like everything I freeze in bulk, I date the bag, put in freezer and every 20 minutes or so shake the bag to keep the vegetables from freezing in a clump. The green beans froze perfectly and there will be enough for about five meals!
Now when I want to add green beans to the menu, I just pour the amount needed out of the bag. Sometimes I microwave them for a few minutes to partial cook them, other times I just saute them. But here is my secret. I pour a small amount of Avocado oil in the pan, toss in the green beans until tender then throw in a handful of slivered almonds and let them brown slightly with the added seasonings to taste.
Something about the almonds, they make this a very tasty dish plus it’s perfect for an appetizing photo shot! I’m excited to get our garden going soon so we can have fresh green beans, squash, peppers, eggplant and lettuce for starters!
So there you have it, a pictoral blog of Lia’s and my green beans with almonds for Wordless or Worded Wednesday plus the A to Z Green Beans. An easy, delicious and healthy vegetable!
Green beans are one of my favorite vegatables.
I love them too Amanda!
