A to Z Food Challenge – W
As I mentioned in a previous blog, some of the letters for food in this challenge is a challenge in itself but I did good today! The A to Z Food Challenge – W will hydrate you!
During the summer there is nothing better on a hot day than to eat Watermelon! Watermelon not only hydrates you but it fills you up. Watermelon is a healthy fruit, it has a high water content and also has many other important nutrients and vitamin C. So watermelon isn’t only a tasty low calorie treat, it’s also good for your health.
I love adding Worcestershire sauce to my meat before cooking, it gives it an enhanced taste but it can also be added to a dish to dip your steak in.
Worcestershire is a fermented liquid that is a condiment which was created in the city of Worcester in Worcestershire England during the first half of the 19th century.
This challenge has also brought back many memories, mostly from my grandmother’s delicious recipes. But today is an extra special memory. This is a picture of me when I was 10 years old and my dad and I just came home from a great day of fishing. What a great memory for a “W” food, a Walleye that I caught on our fishing trip!!
So for the A to Z Food Challenge – W, let’s grab some healthy watermelon to keep us hydrated in this hot weather while you are topping your steak with worcestershire sauce and eating fresh fish!
You should try some Worcestershire sauce on your watermelon!
Think I’ll pass on the Roy! LOL
Yum!
Do you like watermelon Amanda? It’s healthy and quenches your thirst.
ok, so it is watermelon. Did you know that ducks, turkeys, and chickens love watermelon? They do. Whenever we stop by a farmers market we pick up one for us and half a doz. for our little flock. And after we finish ours we toss the rine to them also because they will pick at it until there is no water left -Worcestershire sauce in ground beef when I am making burgers for sure.
Well we have to same ideas on these items Chef William! We through our rinds out for the birds!
