A to Z Food Challenge – G
Today’s A to Z Food Challenge – G is short and sweet! Lia and I love the sweet taste of Grapes!
Take your choice of dark purple Concord grapes, red grapes or green grapes. When I was young we had Concord grape vines in our yard and my grandmother would make the most delicious grape jelly and grape juice from them. My hubby’s grandfather had vines growing in his back yard and he made wine in the bathtub! The stories and memories of years and years ago that stay with us.
Lia has loved both the red and green grapes ever since she was old enough to chew them. The best way to cut grapes for small children is to cut them in quarters from top to bottom to prevent children from choking. When we’re shopping and Lia is with us when we go through the produce aisle she will say, “Need grapes.”
“Oh look Mama I found the grapes!” Lia yelled with excitement! This past week when we took Lia to Indiana to meet up with her mommy we loaded our snack bag with, you guessed it, a big bag of green and red grapes!
Lia was on a mission while shopping a few weeks ago she was an unannounced, unofficial grape taster tester! Check out how she slipped her mask down, popped the grape in her mouth and up goes her mask. 🤣
Did you ever freeze grapes? I like to freeze the red grapes in a freezer bag and add a few to my infuser water pitcher for a hint of grape taste. I started this when I stopped all sugary drinks in July 2018. Do you like grapes…. maybe jelly, jam, or grape juice? What is your favorite? Hope you enjoyed the A to Z Food Challenge – G today!
I love to eat frozen grapes!
Aren’t they delishous Marcia?
I love grapes and I am hoping to have some vines here next year. Hopefully, I will get more than the critters around here do.
That would be wonderful to have your own Brenda!
I love the grapes that are purple. They are sweet.
I thought green grapes were my favorite until I had the purple Amanda. Yes they are so sweet, they are also Lia’s and my hubby’s favorite.
