A to Z Easter Eggs
Yesterday was Easter and Lia and I hope all that celebrate had a blessed day. What a better topic than A to Z Easter Eggs for today’s letter “E” and Lia sure did have an exciting weekend collecting eggs!
Egg Hunt with Carlos
It started last week Lia’s little friend Carlos came over and we had an egg hunt in our backyard. Lia patiently waited for it to be time for Carlos to come over.
It was so much fun watching the two little ones scurry around looking for the hidden eggs and other goodies. But what was more heart warming was to watch as each of them would share with the other. We had hidden a few things of the same item together and each time Carlos or Lia found the double items, they immediately ran over and shared them.
These two little ones share so many smiles and love to everyone who meets them. I’m so glad they have a special friendship and hope the bond continues as they grow up and go their separate ways.
Egg Hunt at McLean’s Park in North Myrtle Beach
Saturday morning Lia, pop and I went to the annual Easter Egg Hunt in North Myrtle Beach. This was the 39th year and it is always so organized. It is set up in age categories and after the little ones collect the eggs, they turn them in for a bag of goodies! Of course the Easter Bunny was there for pictures too!
Again Lia amazed everyone when she started dropping the eggs she collected into the baskets of other little ones. She has such a generous heart!
After Lia turned her eggs in for her goodie bag, she stopped and greeted the North Myrtle Beach Police officers. They even gave Lia a badge and made her an honorary Junior Police Officer! So much excitement at the park!
When Lia’s mommy was a year old, we took her to this same Easter Egg hunt and now 24 years later I was able to find the picture from the newspaper of that day! This is Alexandra in 1997 and Lia this year.
Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday
If you guessed another egg hunt for Lia, you guessed right! But first she had a surprise!
The Easter Bunny (AKA Carlos’ mommy) dropped off a basket on our porch early Easter morning. Lia was so excited when she found the Easter Bunny had left her a package and ran to the porch to see what it was!
Then it was time for another egg hunt in the back yard after opening three more Easter baskets! What a fun morning Lia had collecting eggs!
So I saw some cute like chickens made from deviled eggs and had to try them. Let’s just say I’ll stick to baking and cooking! While they tasted delicious, they didn’t look as perfect as the ones I saw on Facebook but I had fun trying. If I could have figured a way to make them stand up straight they would have been better. What do you think, are they cute?
Lia had a great time at all the Easter Egg hunts and I had fun writing this A to Z Easter Eggs blog for the letter “E” challenge!
This is a blog I wrote for the A to Z Challenge in 2016! Just a few ideas for eggs! http://themarthareview.com/e-is-for-eggs/
It’s great when little kids get to participate in long-lasting traditions. It bonds them to the holiday and their forebears.
I have so much fun doing things with Lia that I did with her mommy! I love traditions and memories. Thanks Roy!
What fun! I participated in an Easter Egg Hunt yesterday, and loved it!! Thanks for the memories!
Oh I bet that was fun Kate! Lia and I hope you had a wonderful Easter!

We did Brenda! Lia was so excited with all her egg hunts, seeing Carlos, meeting the Easter Bunny and finding a basket from the Bunny on the porch! Great memories for sure.
