A Letter to Addiction

Rich and I have a dear friend we have known a long time, T is always one to be there to help everyone, always has a smile on her face. She is the best wife, mom, grandma, and friend, always there for her family. She is someone who has gone through so much, cancer a few times, taking care of her family and the worst of just losing her daughter. C has battled depression for so long but tried to mask it. This is final, her mom will never get her daughter back but she hopes to help others. This is a letter to addiction her daughter wrote and her mom gave me permission to share it in the hopes it may help even one person. This letter is very touching and heartbreaking, how I wish I could take all the pain away from my dear sweet friend. Pop and I love you T and will always be here for you.

C, know that you are loved by so many, may all the demons be gone as you live with the Angels in heaven.

We are a gift from up above, God sent us down with all his love.

There comes a time that he will say, I’m bringing you home with me today.

All the memories of the best, forever in our hearts will last.

This is heartbreaking Martha .I wish though the image was a little bigger to make it easier for reading. My prayers with your friend, her family and you .Sharing a letter like this makes thd horror and demon of addiction more real than any preaching ever can.

I tried to get the picture to come out the largest I could Amrita. Thank you for your prayers, yes the demons are real and if this helps one person it will be worth it.

Tough read but so important, thank you for sharing. Sending lots of love to you and your friend, I’m so sorry for the loss of C.

How heartbreaking. C knew exactly what might happen, and it looks like, against her teaming up with her new best friend Sobriety, the dark side won. I am so sorry. My condolences to your friends. Is Gavin with his grandparents now?

    • Martha says:

Thank you Tamara. T has been raising Gavin since he was born but now his dad decided to become a dad. I hope he allows Tina to stay in the picture for Gavin’s sake.

  4. This is heartbreaking. Nothing feels as bad as knowing that someone you love is suffering and that you can’t do anything to help them. I hope that T knows how many hearts she has touched be allowing you to share this.

You are a kind friend Martha💚💚

  6. This is a very moving letter! I am very sorry for her (and your) loss! Hopefully, this will help someone out there!

  7. Martha, whew! I hope “C” sticks with it. It almost sounds like Satan’s sweet voice drawing her deeper into addictions vs. Jesus filling her heart to save her. If, one day, she takes that view, that could save her permanently. I hope she knows God loves her, as well as many humans. Bless you for caring and supporting her.

Unfortunately this was the last letter C wrote Kebba. She is now living pain free in heaven. I feel so bad for her mom, she tried so hard.
