A Busy December
Hi everyone, today is my first Friday Story Time by Lia for 2023! I’m stealing the show today but Ma will be back tomorrow with her Day Four Meal Ideas!
I had such a busy December getting things ready for my Alzheimer’s Fundraiser Challenge and also making Christmas gifts for my teachers at school!
I love making jewelry so I made each of my three teachers beaded necklaces. Two of my neighbors gave me huge boxes of beads over the summer so I have enough beads to keep me busy! I carefully matched the beads and put a cross in the center of each necklace. Ma found three little velvet bags that each necklace fit in perfectly. My teachers loved them!
For Christmas 2021 I made mommy a necklace so this past Christmas I made her a beaded bracelet to match. She loved it!
I’m participating in Lia’s Sunshine Bakery the Longest Day Alzheimer’s Fundraiser again this year. Since the Winter Solstice was December 21st Ma and I came up with the idea to have a baking challenge for the week before December 21st. Locals we donated $10.00 or more received a hand delivered box of Christmas goodies! Each box was filled with my homemade Italian cookies, pumpkin spice cookies, peanut butter fudge, and of course my specialty brownies with sprinkles!
Ma and I delivered all the cookie boxes on December 21st, the Winter Solstice. My goal for the week was $210.00 in donations for the 21st but I passed that and raised a total of $225.00!
Christmas was so busy! I was at my grandparents for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning and then back home Christmas noon. When I walked in the house all I saw was packages under both trees! The first tree is in my Princess room and the other is in our TV room. Santa left so many packages to open!
I had two weeks Christmas vacation from school so I got to play with lots of my gifts. I also did lots of baking with my new baking accessories and more sprinkles! This is a Unicorn cheesecake cupcakes I made and look at all the delicious sprinkles! But I was excited to get back to school to see my friends! I’ve got so much to catch up on so I’ll be back next week for another Friday Story Time by Lia!
I htink it’s great that you get involved with helping others at a young age. Kudos to you!
Thank you Roy, I hope Alzheimer’s is gone when I grow old.
