2021 Ultimate Blog Challenge has Started
How exciting to be participating once again in the UBC! I joined this challenge in January 2016 and now I am entering my 6th year of this exciting challenge! But wait, it’s not January, it’s February! This is a new year with a new UBC schedule and the 2021 Ultimate Blog Challenge has Started. I have participated and completed the four quarterly challenges for FIVE consecutive years and have met so many wonderful bloggers, read and shared their terrific stories and also learned from many. A big thanks to Paul who shares very helpful blogs on his https://digitalmaestro.com/ website and for putting this challenge together once again!
This is a poem I wrote about the Ultimate Blog Challenge a few years ago.
So what are you plans for the challenge month, do you have a theme or niche you follow or do you use the daily prompts that Paul sends out each day? For me sometimes I use the prompts but other days I have a cool topic in mind. For Wordless Wednesday I like to share some awesome photographs and of course Lia is always ready for her Friday Story Time by Lia where she shares something exciting every week.
Do you have a Gravatar on your blog? This is one thing that Paul discusses during his free online UBC webinar. A Gravatar is a Globally Recognized Avatar. If you upload an image, create your public profile and participate in any Gravatar-enabled site, your Gravatar image and public profile will automatically follow you there. When readers see your Gravatar it helps them identify your posts and blog. Gravatar is a free service for site owners, developers, and users. It is automatically included in every WordPress.com account.
If you notice my gravatar, both Lia and I are in the picture. That’s because we are a team! Lia loves to bake, sew, do arts and crafts and paint just to name a few things. So be sure to check out her blog every Friday to see what she has been up do.
Last Friday she posted part 2 of her Terrarium she made and watched as it sprouted! http://themarthareview.com/lias-terrarium-garden-one-week-later/
I like to write about family, everyday happenings, saving money, healthy meals and gardening. Last month I participated in a 5 day De-Stress you Mess challenge and was that excited. I’m de-cluttering our house room by room! So far we have completed the upstairs hang out room and converted my computer room/office into Lia’s Princess Playroom! I can’t believe the amount of stuff I actually got rid of!! Currently we are working on the kitchen and that is a major project! I love to save everything because someday I may need it. But in the 5 day course I learned there is no “someday” in the week, so we have tossed, donated, sold and shredded so much STUFF!! So stay tuned for more of my de-cluttering, re-purposing blogs.
The 2021 Ultimate Blog Challenge has Started I’m looking forward to reading blogs from my “old” (not in age but previous challenge bloggers) and meeting new bloggers to this awesome challenge! As the saying goes, BLOG ON!!
Oh and don’t forget to use #BLOGBOOST and #UBC!
Hi Martha! Thanks for the reminder about the Gravatar. I just set mine up. Looking forward to more stories from you and Lia!
Great Gravatar Elisa, glad my reminder helped you! So glad to see you back at the UBC!!
Great pictures.
Thanks Cheryl, looking forward to this challenge month!
Hellooo Martha A jump start to the UBC! Great to see you and your wonderful images and stories. Cheers F
Hi Frances! Welcome to the UBC again, looking forward to your blogs as well.
Now the question is does the gravatar lend any gravitas?
Well that’s a good question Roy, I don’t think all my blogs could be considered serious unless they are seriously made to make people smile with Lia’s blogs!
wooohooo…welcome to Day 1 of the UBC!!! Love following you and Ms. Lia’s adventures. Your rooms look wonderful. Tell Ms. Lia that I have an Herb Garden that I received for Christmas that I am about to set out. I’m sure that will be a blog post for another day…
Welcome back to the UBC Nancy! Thanks for taking a peek at my decluttering, there will be more rooms posted as they are completed. Lia says she’s anxious to see your herb garden!
I think that I’ve been participating in the UBC for about the same amount of time as you! And, yes, making friends is something that happened with the Ultimate Blogging Challenge. It was an unexpected surprise. I was just determined to improve my blog and to write more regularly… and then, I discovered that I had some great blogging friends!! The UBC has become a shared adventure, which is exciting!
I love the UBC and I do believe this is where I met you! I find that everyone is so friendly and helpful in this group and it’s great to reconnect in the challenge with everyone! Looking forward to your creativity blogs!
You have done such a fantastic job with your home, Martha!! And it is wonderful to start another challenge month with you. Both my blog and my Facebook group are very focused on coziness, hygge and everyday happiness. I am going to try to stay equally committed to both this month. Looking forward to reading your posts!
We made it to another UBC Jeanine! I’m looking forward to continuing on my decluttering challenge until the entire house AND garage is organized! I love how your blog and FB group are focused on coziness, definitely something we all need!
Good morning/ evening Martha, and Lia we can’t wait to see what all you share this month. Have a BLESSED day and let Rich know we asked about his Roses….
Hi Glenda, can you believe it’s already February?? Looking forward to the challenge and hope maybe to see a blog or two from Charlie! Rich is busy talking to his roses and Lia will be busy writing her blogs with me. Have a wonderful February!
Glad to be back so I can keep tabs on the cooking/baking adventures of Lia. Great photos today, as usual. I am working with my wife’s computer because I have yet to get mine working after it crashed last year. Thus I have a little learning curve to work through but hope to be adding a daily article. I will be watching for your articles
Awwww, it’s tough when we have to use a different computer that we aren’t use to but you can do it! Lia has been a bit slow on the baking lately since our kitchen is all torn apart but hopefully we’ll have it back together this week so she can get back to whipping up some healthy snacks!
love the little princess playroom!!!
Thanks Wendy, this was my favorite room to redecorate!
Great job with the De-stress Your Mess Challenge! The rooms look great!
Thanks for the reminder about Gravatar — I needed to add a new email and photo. Look forward to reading your (and Lia’s!) posts this month!
Thanks Angie, two rooms done, more to go but we’ll get there! Glad the reminder helped you, looking forward to reading your blogs!
Hi Martha, you know I am working on making my dream of making a living writing come true. For this blogging challenge I am going to write a lot about the things I have been doing to make it happen. Plus sharing my poetry.
I’m so happy for you Brenda and can’t wait to read about your next chapter of your dream come true! I love your poetry!
I’m always so inspired to do a UBC and I always give up within a week. lol It amazing me how you just keep going and going and going, but I love getting to share in your life (even if I rarely comment.)
Oh Nona, you can do it! Just take a day at a time, don’t have to write complicated or long blogs, just something about your day! Glad to see you back!
I can’t wait to see what else you will write.
It’s almost time for the next UBC Amanda. You should think about joining it!
