2021 365 Day Photography Challenge

Last year I participated in the 2021 365 day photography challenge where I posted a photo that I took each day of the year. It was fun and I had planned on doing a weekly recap off my photos, have my readers vote on their favorite for the month and then have the top 12 photos posted. All the photos were taken with my Google Pixel 3 XL phone. My next step was to have my readers vote for their favorite out of the 365 photos! I started out great! I put each week of photos in a collage and at the end of the week I would take the winning photo and hold it until the entire month had a winning photograph. Then another vote to get the top photo from each month. I did good for three months! It’s also WORDLESS WEDNESDAY and while I definitely have photos this blog is far from WORDLESS.. Plus on another note, today’s suggested topic is to share something on your “bucket list” and what you want to do before you kick it! More on tht at the end of this blog.

January

These were my weekly January photos and the winning picture for January was Lia chasing the bubbles in the back yard by her garden!

February

Look at my February photos I posted and the winning picture! Lia was painting and she decided to add some finger dots to her masterpiece!

March

March had a variety of cool photos, my favorite was the old barn at Cade’s Cove in Tennessee. But the one that took my readers eyes the most was Lia and Carlos sitting on her garden bench on an Easter Egg Hunt!

I had all good intentions to do my weekly and monthly recaps for the entire year but I only made it the first quarter! The other months I used the comments from my Facebook pages and took the favorite picture that way.

April

This is the photo that was chosen for April! Lia was doing some gardening and stopped to smell the flowers.

May

I love this yellow rose bush in Lia’s garden. The blooms were magnificent and yellow is her favorite color. Perfect photo for May.

June

Lia’s first squash of the season, she was so excited to see the vegetables grow and even more so when she picked them She helped freeze her squash once we had a bundle! Lia had a good crop in her vegetable garden in June.

July

Yes, it’s baking day for Lia in her July photo! She was making chocolate ice cream!

August

Lia and Snowball exchanging kisses. He was about 3 months old in the picture for August.

September

Today was all work and no play for Lia! We had to repair some draperies from a past client and Lia help smooth the valance out. Gotta get them ready for the September rentals in this photo.

October

Anyone ready for some lemon Zucchini bread? It’s so delicious and Lia has made it many times with our garden zucchini! This is a blog from her previously baking this yummy bread for October. http://themarthareview.com/lias-lemon-zucchini-bread/ It’s delicious warm from the oven!

November

Lia has a Christmas tree in her Princess house and she was so excited to decorate it in November. It’s early but she’s already looking for signs of Santa!

December

And the 365 day photography challenge has ended as of December. What better to end the year with another delicious bread recipe, cinnamon swirl bread. The best part, it makes awesome french toast! Lia made cinnamon bread for some of our neighbors for Christmas and they loved it! Here’s the easy recipe! http://themarthareview.com/delicious-cinnamon-bread/

It seems like a 365 day photography challenge would be easy but I always have to go one step further and get the best of the best! Do you have a favorite from the 12 monthly photos? I love them all and think I’ll make a 2021 365 day photography challenge collage! As for my FEATURE photo, Lia’s shirt says, “I will change the world” and I think she will!

Today’s Suggested Blog Topic

Now on to the suggested topic to share something on your bucket list, I didn’t realized that was going to be the topic today but it fit in perfectly! You may wonder why Lia is the center of my blog, why so many pictures and projects with her. Well the one thing on my bucket list is to put together a book with Lia’s blogs she has written for her Friday Story Time by Lia on A Day in Lia’s Shoes blog category and give it to her when she turns 18 years old. I thought that would be an awesome memory book of her early years when she may not remember them all as she gets older. I guess I better get moving on that!

That’s a lot of awesome pictures! What a year! Lia and Snowball are definitely cute and photogenic models.
I love the idea of a photo book. I hope you’ll include pictures of yourself and your husband as well. She will cherish this so much!

This was a wonderful post to read and see all the photos…as a photography enthusiast I want to congratulate you for making this challenge to the end!

  4. So much joy is evident in these photos. I love the yellow roses as a rose is my birth flower and although not my favorite color (green is), I have always had several rooms in the house painted a sunny yellow color. I have not ventured into growing roses in my garden. Afraid of disappointment I believe as I hear they can be difficult to grow. This past year I have been studying which roses might do best in my area and in my soil. My great grandmother had a beautiful rose garden and she tended it until her mid-nineties.

We have so many roses in our gardens Shephards Run Farm, my hubby talks to them and they bloom almost year round. This yellow rose bush is in Lia’s Reflection Garden, looking forward to getting them ready for the spring.

  5. Love her T shirt!!!
The rest of the photos were pretty dog-garned good, too!

Wow, Martha! Lia is darn cute and you are super talented with lots of energy.

  7. Martha, my favorite of all the images you shared today is the Featured Photo– Lia in her “I will change the world” outfit! But what my eyes fell on first was that expression!! Like you, I got the signal about today’s Bucket List theme too late to o much about it. But it made me think, so maybe I’ll write something about that tomorrow.

I’ve always loved that shirt Kebba and feel in my heart that Lia will change the world! She has the most unique expressions at times. I wish the suggested topic came out in the evening before but then again I might not use it anyway. I like to wing my topics.

Love your bucket list idea and I know Lia will cherish it… I do have a suggestion for you, Martha, for that gift to make it more special – include a handwritten note from you, Rich, and others in her life for the book (You could get the written messages and scan them too)

    • Martha says:

What an awesome idea Vidya! Handwritten notes from the people in her life would be a beautiful way to end the book. I’ll even have to had Carlos add something! Thanks for that super idea Vidya!
